Reading Response: After Photography by Fred Ritchin
Chapter: 7
With the interweb of today there are a lot of site to show your digital photographs. Flickr, deviant art, and model mayhem are some just to name a few. These are social websites that focus on not only the photograph, but the actual photographer. On these sites you are able to get feedback (good or bad) about technique, concepts, and Photoshop abilities of your work. These people will tell you what they think and feel about your work without ever meeting you. It’s kind of like have a great discussion group of your own. Some websites are so in-depth that they will even give you daily or week projects to do. Once you’ve reached your deadline you have to upload your photos, and then have a major discussion about them. Social Photography can benefit you in so many ways. It can give you contacts to other photographers or models. It can get your photo out there and outsourcing your photos. And it can get you popular and get traffic to your photos and website.
